Did you know you CAN find work-life balance?
January 2, 2008

Many people identify finding work-life balance as their number one problem in today's busy world. That's why your career or job choice needs to be viewed in the context of all dimensions of your life.

Often the first sign that our lives lack balance is when something goes radically wrong with our relationships, our health or our enjoyment of our work. Too often we give all our energy to our work without considering the consequences to ourselves or our relationships.

Make a work-life balance plan today and start to work towards it. You may find that you need to ‘down-shift' your work to fit in with this plan. You may be able to negotiate this with your present employer or you might need to change jobs.

When changing jobs it is important that the new position is going to enable you to have the work-life balance you desire. That is why it is important to know the workplace and workload before you apply. This is best done by speaking to one of the consultants at Eye Care Recruitment who would have done the research for you.   The team is always there if you need advice.

Remember, when being interviewed for a new position, have a list of questions to ask your prospective employer. Of course, each one of us has different priorities so your questions need to be specific for your needs.

A quote to remember:

‘Always leave time in your life to do something that makes you happy, satisfied, even joyous. That has more of an effect on economic well-being than any other single factor.' (Paul Hawker)
